Breathe to Balance, a 75-min class

If you want to conquer the anxiety of life, live in the moment, live in the breath. -Amit Ray

Join Christina Rodriguez, 500RYT, 200E-RYT, YACEP for this 75-minute class where we’ll explore the transformative power of pranayama (breathwork rooted in yogic wisdom) to self-regulate and balance the nervous system. We’ll begin with 15 minutes of gentle movement (asana) to open the chest, side body, and upper-mid back. After reviewing proper techniques, benefits, and contraindications, we’ll move into our pranayama practice. We’ll conclude with a grounding meditation and time for reflection. Beginners to yoga and breathwork are always welcome.

A note about Christina’s approach to breathwork -  Christina teaches breathwork using a trauma-informed lens as part of a holistic yoga practice. She does not encourage altered states of consciousness in her classes. Her intention is always to bring you back home to your body. If you are pregnant or have been diagnosed with a lung condition, please contact her before registering to discuss whether this offering is suitable for you.

When: Sunday, February 23rd, 10-11:15am
