Beginners Yoga and Mat Pilates with Lakshmi

Are you an absolute beginner interested in taking your first step toward learning Yoga or any form of basic physical movement?

Are you looking for a class option to return to moving your body after an injury and rehabilitation? You are at the right place, and this class could be a perfect match.

 Lakshmi designed this class with an optimal number of foundational and functional yoga poses and Pilates exercises that will be ideal for a beginner. Drawing from her own experience and that of others, she is intentional about creating this true and safe beginner's small group class set at a slower pace.

The small group setting is a mindful choice that encourages you to explore poses and movement with freedom of curiosity.  You can arrive the way you are bringing your whole self.

In this class, you will learn

  • The basic and functional movements that can help you navigate your lifestyle.

  • Poses and Movements that will help you build strength, flexibility, and balance.

  • Identify poses and exercises by name and shape.

  • How to get in and out of the poses in a way that works best for your body.

  • How to make the mind and body connection through breath and movement.

  • Gain a high-level understanding of the posture and alignment concept of the exercise.

  • Most importantly you will learn to embrace your body's movement nature and need and have enough information and knowledge to decide when to move to a next-level class.

Lakshmi holds the following certifications: 200 hrs RYT, Certified 500 hrs Comprehensive Pilates teacher, Cognitively based Compassion training teacher (Certified by Emory Compassion Center)

Investment: $25, props are available for your use. Class size is limited to 5 people.
